Rules for the 24 hour competition

We'd like to tell you a bit about the format and the rules of this year's 24 hour competition.

During the first day of Codebits a new functionality will show up on the website, allowing you to create your team and edit the description of your project.

Other users will then be able to join the team after the approval of its creator.

This will help attendees to create teams even if they don't know anyone at the event, and the listing of the project abstracts will help ensure we don't have a handful of projects that end up being the same thing (the rule of thumb is: before initiating a project, make sure no one else is doing it).

We have also finalized the first draft of the rules for the competition:

  • Each person can only be part of one team;
  • Each team can only present one project;
  • Each team must comprise at least two elements;
  • If you're presenting a web project, you must provide a URL for the jury to give it a try;
  • Projects must be initiated and developed during Codebits.

These rules have been created to help ensure we'll have fewer but higher-quality projects on stage this year.

As a reminder, the fact that you're an attendee doesn't oblige you to create a team or present a project. And as a side note, if you're a speaker you can also enter the competition.

A few other satellite competitions will also take place during Codebits, each of which with its own set of rules, which means you'll be able to enter them with different groups.

Looks good to me since I don't really have any ideas for this year and even if I did had I'm going a bit "solo" so I might just aswell try to help someone with what I know.

Podem-me ajudar?
